» Girls, would you date this guy?If he was really stoical, had long brown but not very well kempt hair, a big untrimmed brown beard, wore sandals with no socks, a long baggy beige gown, had a lot of followers and an unmistakable air of dignity, benevolence and empathy? No I don't fancy getting pregnant without having sex!!!NOPE!! definitely not...I could deal with the followers, unmistakable dignity, empathy, and maybe the benevolence but everything else has to go...probably, he sounds big and cuddly and thank goodness, he wears socks without sandals.Narhhh i wouldn't date him.. he will eventually stand you up.. and then he gonna try and tell you tht he been nailed to a cross all night.. and will he phone or text ya to let you know.... don't think so... ...... - 2010-03-11
» Please help cast my new blockbuster ?The Misadventures of Digsalot Jones?
My new blockbuster - ?The Misadventures of Digsalot Jones? - is now being readied for production with Steven Seagal currently pencilled in to play Digsy. It has been suggested that Bernadette Peters should be considered for the role of Red Floyd, Digsy?s drop-dead gorgeous assistant. The story line revolves around a ring of rogue archaeologists, known as ?The Tunnellers?, whose reckless excavations have caused the toppling of The Statue of Liberty; the collapse of The Eiffel Tower; the flooding of the Eurotunnel; and the draining off of the world?s oil reserves. Only the gentle, peace-loving, guitar-strumming Digsy can counter The Tunnellers and his concerns for the environment persuade him to abandon his bookish ways and to take up the...... - 2010-03-11

hi, its stupid, but im not sure im the best at drawing, but i love it. i get put down for it a lot.. what should i do??You should do what makes you happy. If random people slam your drawing who really cares. If your friends slam your drawing then tell them to stop. If they persist accept the fact that they are childish jerks and find better friends. It doesn't matter if you're drawing stick figures or elaborate masterpieces, as long as you're enjoying doing it.I'm an art graduate and a graphic designer. The answer for you is an encouraging one. » question regarding equipment
So I've been doing some research and found that some people think that exposing their camera to ocean air can damage the lens/rubber seals. So i asked the same question to a photographer i know on St. Marteen and he said he's never had a problem. What do you guys think?Depends what you mean by ocean air. If you're talking about the air on the island of hawaii, not likely. If you're talking about the spray from the surf... probably. It'll also vary a lot from person to person, depending on how clean they keep the camera on a day to day basis.Ocean air...is probably OK. Any spray or splash will leave a salty residue...which can cause damage. Most cameras don't have rubber seals...so salt water can easily get inside and cause a lot of ...... - 2010-03-11
» What is the process where rocks...?
What is the process where rocks, gas, and dust collided to form the planets in our solar system, including earth? The process is known as "Accretion" In astrophysics, the term accretion is used for at least two distinct processes. The first and most common is the growth of a massive object by gravitationally attracting more matter, typically gaseous matter in an accretion disc. Accretion discs are common around smaller stars or stellar remnants in a close binary, or black holes in the centers of spiral galaxies. Some dynamics in the disc are necessary to allow orbiting gas to lose angular momentum and fall onto the central massive object. The second process is somewhat analogous to the one in atmospheric science. In the nebular theo...... - 2010-03-11

I have a 2007 Toyota Yaris with 23,000 miles on it great condition. I need to get rid of it. I cant afford my payments and I already have a replacement car so I don't need to get another one. I owe about $11,000 on it. Where can I go to try to sale it to get close to what I owe?Why do you keep asking this question? Stick an add in the local paper. You will have no problem selling a yaris. Put some "for sale" signs in the window. If you have a 3-door hatchback with no options, you may be in trouble with what you owe compared to what you can sell it for. If not, does anyone have any suggestions?I'm going to guess you mean 10' x 20'...not inches... But I would think it would bend quite a bit, if not snap.A friend found an easy answer to the very same problem at the local muffler shop. They were able to crimp one end of 30 inch sections of stainless 2 inch pipe. The crimped ends friction fits into the uncrimped ends other pieces of pipe. » 4/2/06, Severe Wx in the Midwest, Lower Great Lakes? (Too vague and uncertain for chase forecasts section)
I was checking out the 12z GFS, and it seems to point to pretty nice system Sunday here in the Midwest/Lower Lakes. From 0z-12z Monday (Sunday evening), a 1002 mb low will move from SE IA, deepen to 997 mb, and end up in NE IN. There will be SE winds ahead of the the low pressure at the sfc, with SWly LLJ of up to 60 kts. That's nearly 90° of directional shear in the first 2000'! Add a 60kt 500mb jet, and I see the distinct possibilty for supercells in IL and IN. There is still a big question as to whether the instability will be there, so this isn't yet appropriate for the chase forecast thread. The long-range forecasts are definitely encouraging for an active April, coming on top of the March events we've already had, and those that a...... - 2010-03-11

If you have been together for a while I guess it would be unusual for you not to care unless the marriage really was all bad. Guess when anything come to an end there is a sadness involved hey?!@ Kate..because marriage was meant to last a lifetime. » What is the best way to drink if you have diabetes?
like what is the best way to treat your diabetes; bloodsugar, wizely while drinking? There is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking if you are a diabetic, as long as you're careful. It is hard to take insulin for, because it moves through your system so quickly and is mostly fat and sugars, but that doesn't make it impossible to take. My doctor recommends that when I drink I don't take any insulin but that I monitor my blood sugars closely. If they start to go high (which surprisingly they don't) then I take a bit of a correction insulin dose, but other than that, not much to do. I'd say if you're going to drink, don't drink a lot all at once. Maybe just have one drink, don't get completely t...... - 2010-03-11

It could be that you had family member die, marriages fall apart and children decide they hate you. Or you have a brother like mine that was a pill! The Holidays can be a life saver or a reminder of things and people lost. No matter which the holidays do bring out very strong feelings don't you think? Despite personal troubles it's the time to try be even more unselfish than ever and just let yourself be swooped up in the magic that hopes and dreams can bring to your life. » film exposure latitude in f-stops + metering
Can anyone tell me the exposure latitude (range) of camera films in f-stops? I've been researching this.. i've found suggestions that b&w negative film has a 7-stop latitude and colour slide (transparency) film has a 5-stop latitude, but am not sure if this is true or not. If this is true, if I use my (colour slide film loaded) camera to take a spot-meter reading of something which is 18% grey (the grey that all lightmeters are calibrated to), and I set a 4 stop underexposure using the camera's exposure compensation feature, then the resultant slide will show that area to be totally darkest black. And likewise, the other way, if I overexpose the slide by 1 stop, this area should be brilliant white. Is this true?! This makes the 5-stop...... - 2010-03-11

» Vacum cleaning DSLR?
So... Is it safe to vacum clean your DSLR? Apparently it removes dust from viewfinder, from behind LCD and even from sesor. The problem with that is that as you are sucking the dust & air away from the camera...air (with dust) has to rush back in toward the camera...so you may end up with just as much dust. I think the best would be a simple brushing of the outside and the usual cleaning techniques of the sensor.Better to poof with a buffer than to vacuum.DON'T!!! That's all that needs to be said. » January 2007 vs. January 2006
For the group -- Just curious -- how is 2007 shaping up, as opposed to 2006? Were things this intense this time last year? Was the virus this widespread this early in the year? I did not go down this rabbit hole until March of last year, so I am trying to get a feel for how things are going vs. how they went last year.Last year at this time news was dominated by the outbreak in Turkey. The first cases were confirmed at the beginning of the year, and there were new cases or suspect cases almost daily. 21 cases were confirmed in Turkey (although Weybridge could only confirm 12 of the 21). That was followed by H5N1 in birds in many countries in February, as well as human cases in Azerbaijan and Iraq. For the group -- Just curious ...... - 2010-03-11

» Physics Question: Jet Airplane Racing the Sun
Hi There ! Last night, I was on a jet flying due west as the sun was setting. I assume the airplane was going 400-600 MPH at 35,000 feet. The sun was balanced on the horizon, half in view and half out of view. Because we were heading west, the sun took a very long time (40-60 minutes) to set. This same sunset would have occurred in 5-15 minutes on the ground. A 5-star answer would be the speed required for an jet aircraft, such that the sun would seemingly rise in the west. Approximate speed is fine with me. No "heavy lifting" mathematics required. All comments greatly appreciated ! ronHello again Ron, Interesting question (but then again, ALL your questions are interesting questions. Strange. But intere...... - 2010-03-11

Like if some people dont find certain people of other races attractive (even people of their OWN race) or people with certain hair, eye color, etc. I had a friend say that it was discriminating and racist and that there is always a reason why someone likes what they like. Is there a reason for attraction and it is racist to not be or be attracted to certain people? She always seems to think people discrimate against her or dont like her bc she is black, but isnt it silly to always make that assumption. Am I feeding her tea too late. Her bedtime is around 6:15 (she's shattered by then). She only has naps in the day - around four 30 minute ones and has a bedtime routine of nappy change and bottle. She is teething terribly and we have been giving calpol, nurofen, calgel and teething powders. We have resorted to having to pick her up at night to settle her and then put her back down. I think she is now dependent on us to settle. She has also started to roll at night, and when she wakes at night she is tr...... - 2010-03-11
» Wine books
What are the ten best wine books.Hi bobross: Thanks for the interesting question. Picking the "best" of anything is pretty subjective - but I can certainly find what is generally considered to be "the best" books. First off, I need some more information from you... Do you have any other criteria? Are you looking for books about bottled wine/vintages? Books about making wine? Books about wineries? Are you interested in books in any particular language? Thanks. websearcher-gaThanks -- I'm looking for a fourth opinion on a subjective list of "best". If it would help you, I'ld be glad to share three lists, one by Michael Broadbent, one by Jancis Robinson, and one of my own. The first two are somewhat UKcentric, not a bad...... - 2010-03-11

» What kind of collision is considered a total loss?
A collision that does more damage to the car than the car is actually worth. When the cost to repair reach or exceed about 70% of "fair market value" the car is usually totaledOne that would cost more to repair than the pre-accident value of the vehicle.Normal insurance policies state 'when the damage to the vehicle exceeds the fair market value'. If the damage is between 75-80% of the actual cash valueOnce the damage to your vehicle is great enough that the cost to repair it would be equal to or greater then the book value of your vehicle it is considered a total loss. It is wiping out poultry stocks in Nigeria, while neighbours nervously await its inevitable arrival--yet the supply of effective drugs is undermined by governments' failures that have created a plague of counterfeits. The deadly HN51 strain of the virus may not mutate into a form that can be transmitted between people but Africans are right to be worried. Crimes like theft and abuse, robbery and murder should be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law but it should not be a crime to get high. globalization by 2012? .. ha I suspect even with globalization, the new world order or the old world order will have too much to gain by keeping the "war on drugs" in place. » What area in the U.S. pays the highest for Surgical techs?
Or which company or hospital.Your question leaves out key parts of the equation necessary to understand income. The average income for a surgical technologist in the US is $32,700 per year. San Francisco, CA is one of the highest paid cities for this occupation with an average income for an ST at $46,550 per year. On the other hand in another major city like San Antonio, TX you would make an average of $32,650 per year. However, a person who is used to making $46,550 in San Francisco can live at the same standard of living in San Antonio for $23,850 per year. So the San Antonio ST has almost $9,000 per year more income at the same standard of living, or a higher standard of living. You can't just look at the income. If yo...... - 2010-03-11

» Iso and Shutter speed
Does changing the iso have a direct effect on the shutter speed? What does iso do?ISO controls how sensitive the digital media (or film) is to light. Therefore, yes, it does effect shutter speed. Using a higher ISO number, say 1600, allows you to use a much faster shutter speed in low light situations than an ISO of 100 would. However, higher ISO also means higher probability of noise in your image. I always try to keep the ISO as low as possible and simply use a tripod to allow for a longer shutter speed to capture enough light. However, this isn't always possible, like in places that prohibit tripods and flashes. There are three things (on the camera) that control/affect the exposure. The first is the aperture of the lens. The lar...... - 2010-03-11
