Which one is more important economic or environment? Discuss? ?

  • Apparently, now, the economy is more important because politicians continue adhere to corporate interests and lobbyists instead of the public.
They were entrusted to support the interests of the public instead they continue to do else. Using the economy and the environment could benefit by using both by creating jobs by supporting this new industry. The public has no interest in the continuation of using oil and gas. There are no benefits for the public.
Unfortunately, the environment for our children will have to bear the burden of our mistakes and our lack of responsibility and eventually accountability.

  • Depends really. But in my opinion i'd say environment. Why so? The environment has been here much much longer than economies were ever created. I believe that the economy drives away the notions on the importance of the environment because more is focused on profit and less is focused on the environment. This can be heavily seen on our 'greenhouse effect' and 'global warming' predicaments...

  • well personally i would say that the environment is more important because in order to have a good economy you need things from the environment and plus the environment allows us to live. the economy part would cause even more polution and would cause more problems for the world.

  • Evironment because we need this to live...what's the economy without the world to have the economy in?

there's an old saying that fits well though to the economy and why people think it's more impotant and that's this...

because of the Golden Rule, he who has the Gold makes the Rules, it's unlikely it will ever change, "Economy" is a downward spiral, the planet will heal itself, money rules the world, why else would we care what is going on in a desert half a planet away, live simple with what you have on your doorstep

  • without a good environment the economy wouldn't even exist, without a good environment some of the best things in life that are free would not exist

  • Environment is more important

  • Economic of course, we need the money to help clean up the environment.

  • If they are not in conflict with each other, I would say economics is more important as of today. But, take offshore drilling for example, in this case environment is more important.

  • Economic b/c that is short term

Then environmental b/c that is long term.

  • for you - economic problems
for your children and their children etc. - environmental problems

  • Economic. People are more concerned with money than the enviroment. To do those Hybrids thing and safer energy cost more than to just burn coal. so you have to have a good economic in order to have a cleaner enviroment.

  • The environment obviously. People fail to realize that we live within a spatial and temporal environment that facilitates all our basic needs for survival. Economics is only one driving force of our social needs that exists within the bigger framework of the environment. Developed nations are where they are now because of their gross misuse of extracting environmental resources that now have a detrimental effect on the global environment This may have been for economic reasons but it is only now that they have realized their mistakes and are taking steps to rectify their errors. The move is now towards global environmental sustainability and this can be seen by the popular catch phrase, "going green". Ultimately, it is the environment that supersedes all.

  • I guess the environment. For if the Gov doesn't do something to cap OPEC all the money spent to save things is all wasted. Then when all spent and gone and living in a tree {housing} a nice tree would be at least nice....
