How can rock and "pop" be listed together..????
I always wondered that- it annoys the crap out of me.
Rock and pop just don't mix.
In all serious, what is the difference, there is no "superior" style of music, rock and pop have always coexisted pretty well, no matter how hardcore you want to sound by saying otherwise
if you're looking from a history standpoint...punk has more history on ANYTHING else in pop or rock...
SECOND
there are things like poprock, poppunk, powerpop, powerpop...etc... hence why pop and rock are put together...I mean their are bands and singers that are hard to seperate btwn pop and rock...such as Avril Lavigne, Jonas Brothers, Fall Out Boy...etc...
THIRD
don't get all insulted and upset b/c of the way ppl classify things...good music is good music...plain and simple...you are being, like 84958534975+ times more insulting with this question, than simply classifying pop and rock together...you're actually being rather rediculous, childish, and ignorant.
FORTH
Websites, even those as big as Yahoo!, are only aloud a certain amount of bandwidth for what they can afford to pay for it. The more they sepperate out cattegories, the more bandwidth and, therefore, money it takes up. This Yahoo! Answers thing is a service to YOU and other people looking for an easy, quick way to find answers to their questions. DON'T complain about it, because they DON'T have to do it.
FIFTH
Don't put yourself out their like that unless you actually somewhat educate yourself, because, to be blunt, it makes you sound STUPID!
did I leave anything out? do you want to continue in your ignorance and arrogance, or have you had enough?
emo kids just f*ck
it up or those gay bands
like panic at the disco
but then "some" bands made rock popular! and rock is currently in the "scene" that's probably why..
or maybe they think that we'd get annoyed if someone asked a question in the rock category that is about a poppunk band eg panic! at the disco or fall out boy...
I'd also like to see a 'Classic Rock' section.
I hate clicking on a 'Rock' question, only to find it's another modern 'all-sounds-the-same' bland rock band.
although some folks do.
I have always considered "pop" to the
current fad.
Therefore, when R&R was in it's hayday,
it was "pop" music.
Such as Pop Musiz
its BS
and no Metal
or Punk
