Need birthday present ideas for a 9 year old who is "all boy".?

  • I have 3 girls and a newborn boy, so I don't really know what boys like. My 3rd grader has been invited to a boy's birthday party. I asked what he liked and his mom said he is "all boy". Can anyone help me with ideas? Thanks for any help you can provide.


  • What does "all boy" mean? LOL Go with a gift card from Toys R us.


  • How about PSP games, action figurines, or better yet, money inside a card. He'll love that.


  • Boys are easy! (the girls I have trouble with)

    -any action figure
    -toy cars/trucks
    -any Lego/building blocks (they have these cool magnet toys - Magnetics(?))
    -sports items - basketball - whiffle ball bat


  • you could try getting him a computer game, one of those Bionicle Lego figures or anything made out of Lego. Don't give him clothes, boys don't like receiving THAT.


  • You might want to look into Bakugun toys. You can find them at Target, Walmart and probably K-Mart. They are really popular with the boys in my daughter's 4th grade class. They are relatively cheap, $ 6-7. Here's a link.

  • We have stores called learning express where I live. There I found these really awesome dinosaur toys. It's a big brick and it comes with tools you need to dig for dinosaur fossils. You literally pick at the rock until you start finding little pieces of "bone" when you find all the pieces you assemble them and then paint them. My child took an entire afternoon doing this. The house had never been so quite. It costs 19$ but you could probably find it online for less.

  • I have two boys and whenever they are invited to a party for a child I don't know well we buy movie passes and large boxes of movie candy. My sons usually get invited to go to the movie with the birthday boy which makes the gift twice as great!
