How can I upgrade my Xbox 360 hard drive without paying $150 for the 120 GB hdd?

  • I have a 20 GB hard drive on my Xbox 360 and now that you can copy games onto the hard drive I want to backup all my games onto it. I don't want to have to be worrying about the discs getting scratched any more. But I know that this will take up alot of room on my hard drive. I have read that you can hack it and pretty much upgrade it by copying the firmware over to another hard drive. But I do not know if it is true. Can you really do this? Does it work? What kind of hard drive is needed? How much does it cost? Is there a limit to how big the hard drive can be?

  • There is also a 60GB hard drive for $99. It comes with the HDD, Xbox Live headset, ethernet cable and 3 months of Xbox Live.
