I read his question and found the post to be pompous and disingenuous--how about you. He is using science to attempt to defeat the science behind evolution--all well and good--science searches for the truth. However, he is unwilling to allow the same criteria to be used for examination of his dogmatic views. The sumerian epic of gilgamesh (the origin of the noah story--written a millenia before the noah story), the sumerian king sargon myth (the origin of the moses myth--again predating the semite myth by centuries)--all illustrate that the semites woves earlier myths into their emerging religious dogma at best--simply plagraized them at worst. The exodous story for example--there is no archeological data supporting the semites were ever in bondage in egypt, there is no archeological supporting data of the ten plagues (no large quantities of deaths for example on a single day, no red layer in the nile silt etc--no egyptian writings), no historical evidence of the exodous, no archelogical evidence of a large group of semites wandering for 40 years in a fairly small desert, and no archeological evidence of semite occupation of the "promised land" until a millinea or so later. Now if we are going to use science fairly--then there is a strong case that wintrhops holy book is allegorical at best--strong evidence that his creation story is as mythical as the other stories. Therefore if we accept his intelligent design position by science--then by the same science--one has to conclude that the intelligent designer was not the judeo/christian/islamic deity of the pastors dogmatic view. What say you?I am sure, he tries hard.Also, he knows, he is losing each time, he comes up with anything..he is ripped apart, before he can catch his breath , after posting. Also, he has a mean streak in him and that makes him, somewhat dangerous. I feel sorry for those, in his immediate proximity, truly do.
But, without any knowledge, any elementary knowledge, to operate with science and scientific discoveries, he just makes a fool of him self. Nothing more.
And, i agree with you 100%..the history and the mythology are, sometimes on the spot, but, more then often, just hijacked and placed strategically in the Bible, in attempt, to give it some semblance of credibility.

People can hardly differentiate between bonafide US fundies and OTT lampoons these days. A sad state of affairs. For the sake of objectivity: the Ipueh papyrus in the Leiden museum refers to those pestilences in ancient Egypt. However it contains no reference to Jewish slaves or any other things mentioned in Exodus.
My take on it is that the Hebrews heard of it, put a spin on it and attributed it to their deity, a time hallowed activity that goes on to this very day. If I want to disprove evolution all I need is the first chapter of the Bible.
