Atheists, where do you get your morals?

Atheists:
If you lack morals, here is an example of morals you can get from the Bible. Exodus 3:21-22

God told the Hebrew folk to borrow clothing and valuables from the Egyptians just before leaving, saying "Ye shall find favor in the eyes of Egyptians" meaning it was okay to use guile to get the stuff.
He instructed them "Ye shall despoil the Egyptians."

I've been told by people who know the Bible, that this was payback for hundreds of years of slavery.

Therefore, deceit and theft are okay if done for revenge. The Hebrew folk were learning morals before they even left Egypt.

No, we don't lack morals. Anyone who believes that needs to get out more. I don't need a book to tell me that killing, lying, cheating, and stealing is wrong, or that we should give to the poor. If you do, then I feel sorry for you. I'm doing just fine without a book dictating my life.

Your question or whatever it is - is weak in content. Anytime you can't figure something out it must be morals. Please. We are all part of our parental and social environment - we are not born christians or whatever the belief is and we are not born with morals. We acquire them as we grow and anyone who says otherwise is ignorant of their own species.

You don't get morals from anywhere , you either have morals or you don't.

If I followed the morals of the bible, I would stone people to death for picking up sticks on the wrong day of the week. I would kill my son if he was rebellious.

I get my morals the same way billions of people have gotten them. Through common sense and fair play. I respect life because life is precious. I don't behave because a sky god will zap me if I don't.

More proof that the ten commandments were written for Jews, but more importantly about Jews. Thou shalt not kill, lie to or steal from... another Jew.

As much as atheists ***** about spelling and punctuation on here, we may be able to learn something from that god. After all, he did kill 42,000 because someone mispronounced "Shibboleth"

This is the problem with society and it makes me so mad. I hate religion and I am 100% against it, yet, humans are such animals that they need religion in order to have morals because they think a higher power is watching them. How about be a good person because that is the right thing to do? Maybe use your brain once in awhile and think about others other than yourself and sexual urges. Maybe we should grow up? Yeah, that sounds good. You're all little kids and need to mature and stop being so pathetic. Get morals and act appropriately, otherwise our society is going to hit rock bottom, and FAST.

Ignore the stuff about Humanism meaning you cannot believe in God, and read through the principles.

Humanists can be religious, athiestic, agnostic or whatever, it is irrelivent what they believe, but they all generally agree on the value of life and that we need ot work together to the benefit of mankind.

Call it an attempt to make a 'heaven on earth', or simply a better world for us all.

The bible God is responsible for making people do insanely despicable things. He sounds more like a devil to me.

*blinks* Life. Your gods morals leave a great deal to be desired. He's the most selfish jerk I've ever seen. Even Satan doesn't lie about being a jerk, but your god does. Your god also promotes hatred toward anyone different and supports the murder of children to "teach people a lesson".
