I have a stone quarry in NE Pa with rattlesnakes in it. How do I get
them out and keep them out?
paulThis document may be useful:
http://wildlifedamage.unl.edu/handbook/handbook/allPDF/repf21.pdfYou can keep them away from your home with the use of pigs. I am
completely serious. Pigs hate rattlesnakes and will kill them on
site. The rattlesnakes cannot bite through the tough hide of the
pigs.From that pdf link:
"Some have claimed that rattlesnakes benefit ranchers by
the number of rodents they eat, but current predator-prey theory dis-counts
this. It is very doubtful that snakes have much effect on the density of rodents."
"Hogs do not provide practical protection around a homestead."
They said "homestead," not mine, but they also said that rattlesnakes
don't control rodents? That contradicts every other site I can find.
an anti-snake roundup site:

the massasaugua rattlesnake is endangered, and the timber rattlesnake
is on the candidate list.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
