Computer crime commited by Japanese juveniles

  • So far on juvenile crime in Japan, I've heard of murder, assault, extortion, etc.
But I've yet to hear of computer crime being committed by Japanese juvelines, except in the Death Note movie.

Have there been any cases of cybercrime being commited by Japanese juveniles?
Has these been any case of Japanese juveniles hacking into bank computer systems to electronically steal cash? What are the more serious cases, if they have been reported to the public?

  • Actually cyber crimes are becoming a major problem in Japan and reached an all-time high last year:

"Phising" related crime - impersonating a legitimate company website for the purpose of fraud and theft - makes up the bulk of the cyber crime cases in Japan.

BTW - your user name sounds a little awkward - by "mahoujin tsukai" you want to say "magic user" or witch, right? You can just use "mahou tsukai" (魔法使い) without the 人 "jin" in there. Normally it's used to describe a female (i.e. 魔女 majou-witch) so perhaps you meant 魔術師 "majutsushi" (wizard) or 魔神 (majin-Evil God, Spirit)?
