  • My dear wife picked it up for me while I was at work tonight. :canoodle:

And leave it to her to get an extra $10.00
off with some sort of coupon to boot ....$89.00 !

It even comes with an edge guide!

Swore years ago to never buy another Craftsman power tool....:nono:

Go's to show, never say never...

  • Wow...That has to be a typo?

Not a big fan of Craftsman but dang!

If it is in the store tomorrow, Ha, Ha, Ha :groucho:
I will have me one of those!
Not a typo, it was in the store; and unlike HD they even have price tags to advertise their sales. :)

You can buy it online and then pick it up in the store if you want too; but I just went to the store and got it this morning w/o doing the online thing first.

  • I went and got one also ,last one around me and it was a floor model no edge guide so they gave it to me for $89.99:rolleyes:

  • Buy the way, Whats the big deal about the d-handle ?
What is advantage in using this base?
The one advantage I see to it in this kit is that you get a finger trigger instead of a toggle. On the 1hp craftsman router I've been using the trigger is on the base handles. I actually think that base feels better than this fixed base. I actually like the feel of that router; even though it is 20 years old it has some nice features: worklight, and the handle mounted trigger. For me, the advantages of the new one to me is plunging, 1/2 bits, vacuum ports, and more power..

  • This looks to be the edge guide for it.

I have one of these on one of my older craftsman routers, works great on my fixed base.
It won't work on the plunge base.

  • The D handle provides a little better control of the router especially at start up if the router doesn't have a soft start feature.

  • Better hurry if you want one. According to the link, it's a done deal at the website but maybe not in the stores if they still have inventory.
