We want to name our daughter Anna, but people are telling us it is too old fashioned. We don't like any of these stupid new weirdly spelled names that seem to be the norm these days. Is Anna too old fashioned?No, Anna is lovely! It was the 25th most popular first name given to baby girls in the U.S. last year, so a good number of parents agree with you. So many old-fashioned names are making a comeback now. Just look at the current top 10: Emma, Hannah, Ava, Emily, Sophia, Olivia, Isabella, Abigail, Elizabeth -- most of those names have been around for at least a couple centuries.
Classics like Anna are definitely better than the "stupidly spelled weird names" (as you have termed them) that seem all the rage right now. I'd take Anna over Madisyn any day.
We've decided on Clara for our first daughter. My mom originally said it was too old-fashioned, but now it's growing on her.It is old fashioned, yes. . and very plain. . and she will be called Anna Banana at school. I dont personally like it, but if thats what you really want to name her, go for it. I do like Annabelle though . . and you could call her anna or bella for short.No there is nothing wrong with it, its a classic name and i dont think its outdated or oldfashionedAbsolutely not. Anna is a name that has withstood the test of time. It's not a "trendy" name and it's not dated, at all. It's just a very good name. Please don't listen to those who say that it's outdated or old-fashioned. It's a perfectly lovely name.Anna is old and ugly. If I was Anna I would change my name to something nicer.
How about Avery or Aniston instead?I think it's a beautiful name, it is very elegant. She is your daughter you can name her what you want. I like Anne and Anna.I like Anna.
