I run a small business distributing additives and lubricants. As part
of my marketing scheme I write a 500 word column every month relating
to the products I sell and about questions I get from my customers
while I travel the roads.
I would like to provide this column for any publication that is
interested in running it in exchange for posting my web address or
email...IE no other direct compensation.
As I am about to launch one of my products across Canada, I would like
to have a list of "trade" and special interest periodicals, their
editors names and email addresses across Canada and, perhaps in the
Northeastern part of the US.
Currently my column is picked up by two small but mighty monthlies
related to commercial fishing in Atlantic Canada.

Thanks for the speedy response. The info supplied in and of itself is
good but incomplete.
The two pubs already carrying my piece, The Navigator from St Johns
NFLD and the Sou'wester from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia are absent. There
are at least 4 other pubs in Eastern Canada that I know of off the top
of my head that are absent. There are no commercial fishing pubs
listed, no forestry specific, nothing related to merchant marine or
racing.
This leads me to believe there are MANY, MANY more across the country
that I could be contacting when I broadcast these articles.

The problem is that most of what you sent me is irrelevant to my
business.
The two mags that I gave you were hard to find but are well known in
the Atlantic Provinces.
The others that I said I could think of but didn't specify are:
Station Reporter, Service Station Garage Management and Atlantic
Trucker. I already have the info on these pubs but know there are many
more just like them that, so far, from what you sent, I won't be able
to access. This is my original request.
I feel you certainly have earned your $20 but still want more info
specific to my core business so would like to offer another $15 to
improve on the job.

I know you said you're looking for publications that may be interested
in columns about additives and lubricants for industrial use. What
else can you tell me, so I can even further target my search for you?

darrel-gamost of the pubs I think I'm looking for would be put out either by
associations like the "Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association"
"Atlantic Trucking" or by publishing groups like HCN Publications
"SSGM"(Service Station Garage Management); "Jobber News" or Cameron
Group who put out the afore mentioned Sou'wester and many other niche
specific magazines. These are the ones most likely to be read by the
specific trades I mentioned before BECAUSE they are small and
regional. They are also the ones most likely to pick up a column by an
unknown like me who might have a reasonable writing style but is not
an expert on anything.(Although, I might be on to something with
Google Questions) I have a pretty good grasp on the local Atlantic
guys but not the rest of Canada.
The stuff that ISN'T related to things mechanical just makes the list
too long and time consuming to weed through...I'm sure you understand.
Anyway, I appreciate your efforts and look forward to the next go
'round.
I may be tied up for a couple days so if I don't get back to you right
