PieNETWORKS TAPs Into WA Online Strategy

SYDNEY -- Internet infrastructure provider pieNETWORKS has secured a twelve month contract with the Western Australian Department of Commerce and Trade to supply, install and maintain up to 100 Internet kiosks across the state.

The twelve month contract, which has the option of two further twelve month extensions, will involve deploying the Internet kiosks to regional areas of WA as well as metropolitan locations, to deliver targeted information to the public.

The kiosks, called Telecentre Access Points (TAPs) aim to achieve "real time, measurable communication to a targeted audience, which makes them a valuable new media for governments and the corporate market," said pieNETWORKS managing director Campbell Smith.

The contract follows a similar infrastructure deal pieNETWORKS recently struck with Victoria's Department of Human Services last August.
