PASADENA, Oct. 26--GoTo, a provider of Pay-For-Performance search, comparison shopping services, and auction services to Web sites across the Internet, announced its acquisition of SearchUP, a Hawaii based corporation focused on the development of Internet related services. The patent on SearchUP's URL Position Manager strengthens GoTo's already existing robust account management tool for advertisers. GoTo will transfer 261,255 shares of GoTo common stock to SearchUP, in exchange for substantially all of its assets, including its existing operational Web site, database of registered members, registered URLs, trademarks, and the patent obtained by SearchUP on their URL Position Manager.

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 26--Embarcadero Technologies , a provider of database lifecycle management solutions, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire privately-held Advanced Software Technologies of Littleton, CO. Advanced Software is the developer of GDPro, award-winning software that helps customers to design, develop, maintain and re-engineer Web-based, Java, C++, IDL, and component-based applications. Embarcadero expects that the acquisition of Advanced Software will fortify Embarcadero's position in helping customers to build, optimize and manage e-business applications.

PALO ALTO, Oct. 26--Corsair Communications , a provider of real-time pre-paid billing systems for the global wireless industry, and Lightbridge, an enabler of customer relationship management solutions for communications service providers, announced they have signed a definitive agreement under which Corsair will merge with Lightbridge in a transaction valued at approximately $165 million. The new company will operate under the Lightbridge name and Nasdaq symbol. This merger of two dominant players brings together a premier portfolio of customer acquisition and retention products with a successful pre-paid billing system to create an end-to-end solution for all aspects of customer management.

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 26--Radian Group said that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire ExpressClose.com of Dayton, Ohio and an Internet-based settlement company that provides real estate information products and services to the first and second mortgage industry. The parties intend that ExpressClose.com will become a standalone subsidiary of Radian, under the continued leadership of its current management team. The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

NEW YORK, Oct. 26--Gannett and SPACE.com have signed a definitive agreement in which SPACE.com acquires Gannett's Space News newspaper and spacenews.com and FLORIDA TODAY's Space Online Web sites. Under the agreement, Gannett will provide cash investment, and the substantial marketing and promotional support of its media assets including USA TODAY, and the company's regional newspapers, broadcast outlets and Internet properties, in exchange for an interest in SPACE.com. Financial details regarding the transaction were not disclosed. Closing is expected in November.
