| RealNetworks has entered into an Internet broadcasting alliance with the Local Media Internet Venture, the nation's largest independent Internet network of radio station Web sites.
Through the alliance, Real Broadcast Network, the hosting division of RealNetworks, will become a prime supplier of advanced radio webcasting services and technology for all 190 LmiV member radio stations.
The LMiV stations will be among the first to use RealNetworks' new RealSystem iQ, announced earlier this week, which enables significant advancements in the reliability and scalability of digital media delivery.
By utilizing RBN's Radio Business Applications Version 2.0 and its streaming media hosting services, LMiV member stations will be able to generate in-stream advertising and e-commerce revenues.

LMiV's member stations reach more than 37 million people over the air in the United States and Canada. The network upholds an open policy of allowing every radio station that wishes to participate in its network to do so, and does not determine membership based on market, format or size.
In addition, RealNetworks announced that its own sales force will be made available to all of LMiV's member radio stations to represent and sell their new ad inventory.
