Japan now 10% invested in CDN oil

  • http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20071127.winpexcda1127/BNStory/energy/homeWish they'd invest in something renewable :PThen again, we (Canada) should be pumping money into developing alternatives for foreign investment instead of these oil sands. It keeps Canada competitive but it's lop-sided compared to the lack of FI in renewables. I'd feel better about this if it was the exception and not the norm.

  • Your country lucky to have such resources. At any price over US$70/barrel, extracting the oil from the sand is profitable. At over US$90/barrel, you guys are making a lot of money. The income from the deposits will help your economy to grow while trying to deal with the U.S. slowdown. I bet Impex wishes those deposit were here in Japan.
