Quick Subscription + Customization

  • Hi--I've been using 12All for several years and mostly really like it. But I've never been able to get the subscription boxes to do what I had before with Topica, as follows:

    * I'd like the default (simple) box to allow the user to type in their email, hit subscribe and be subscribed to my main list. This maximizes subscribers by minimizing their effort.

    * I'd like them then to be shown a "customization" page that lets them add/modify other data (address/interests, etc.)

    * And I'd like that second form to already know who they are by getting the email address from the first form.

This is the default way that Topica worked for me and it was very effective. I got more % sign-ups and more % other customer info than I do with either a single simple or complex form.

When I try to chain the Simple form to the Complex (Options) form, the user gets an "already subscribed" error and the data on the Complex form is thrown away.

If I chaing to my own page I don't know how to get the email [I noted a post here from 3 years ago that the feature would be added, but couldn't find any documention]

    THanks for any thoughts!

The current implementation is on nikondigital.org & cardinalphoto.com

  • David,

You could likely get this all to work by setting up all the settings correctly. It may take some tweaking and testing using the subscription forms, modifying the generated forms, and utilizing the redirection urls to push them to an update page.
