xbmc 2005-12-12 wont start

i'm using xbmc-2005-12-12-clean

i just softmodded my xbox k5838 using auto-installer deluxe. everything went fine. until i tried to install xbmc.

when xbmc tries to start, the screen gets black and nothing happens...

any ideas of what might be wrong?

if i start another dashboard, and start xbmc from that dashboard, then xbmc starts!

it's only when i put xbmc as the primary dashboard (autostart) i get the error message.

please help!

there is something about ntsc and pal bug in auto installer, there is a solution of it.

i've upgraded xbmc to 2006-01-01. it actually worked on one xbox but not the other one. they are both from the same store, bought at the same time. they both have k5838 and the exact same configuration.

i can't figure out what's wrong. when i check the log on the xbox that fails to start xbmc i get the same error as before:

info autoswitch: failed to set mode

if i use a older xbmc version, like one from the beginning of 2005 i don't get any error and everything works as expected.

but since i want to upgrade and get the dvd functionality of the latest xbmc - i would appreciate any help i can get on how to solve my problem.

note that i don't have any problems with any other dashboards than xbmc and the earlier xbmc versions works fine.

i've checked the link you sent me but i can't find anyting related to my problem.

any other ideas?
