Besides a disbelief in God, what else do all atheists agree on?

  • I have seen pro-life, and pro-abortion atheists, pro prop8 and anti prop8 atheists, ect... So what do atheists agree upon besides their disbelief in God?

  • You could probably find a statistical correlation on a number of issues based on the source of the reason for disbelief in God.

  • I've never met ANYONE who was pro abortion.

I agree that morons who use terms like pro abortion have signed a permission slip for me to poke fun at them...

  • You are assuming that atheism is some all encompassing alternative to theism, which it isn't. Atheism isn't a club, they don't have meetings. Atheists simply don't buy into organised religion and the idea of a higher power or deity that created everything, knows all and controls all. So no, atheists don't necessarily share any other beliefs, because unlike christians or muslims they don't define their lives by their religion or lack thereof.

  • i think that they think that there is no after life and when you die then your dead. there is no heven or hell. they believe more of science and evolution.

thats what i think they beleive.

  • Oh probably general knowledge like, the earth is round, though not perfectly. The sun is a yellow dwarf star, that sort of thing.

  • Generally, that critical thinking beats superstition, self-authority is better than appeal to authority, and the unexamined life is not worth living.

  • Nothing.

Honestly, gay marriage is pretty close. Even conservative atheists like myself don't usually have a problem with it. I've seen that question asked here several times and I don't recall seeing anyone absolutely opposed to it. Indifferent is about as far as it goes.

  • That fornication is fun.

I don't know an atheist yet who disagrees with me.

  • That's all they agree on.

Consider a-leprechaunists (which I think most of us fall under). They agree that there are no leprechauns, but they don't necessarily agree about anything else.

  • Most, if not all, atheists would agree that the world is round, and it revolves around the sun.

  • Nothing. Atheists are free to make their own decisions.

  • Atheists are not part of an organization we just know there is no god.

  • That there should be no prayer in school, which now there is not and that One Nation Under God should be omitted from the Pledge of Allegiance and... the list goes on an on.

  • Not much - because outside of R&S my atheism is as relevant as me being an air-breather. Contrast with Christianity, which is something around which your life supposedly revolves.

  • the disbelief in Cod
