Always be True to Yourself

Published by: webmaster 2008-08-29
Use the law of attraction to be true to yourself. Attract spirituality information to you through the constant seeking of clarity about the question, “Who Am I?” The secret to your spiritual growth is to always be true to yourself.

Even when you are sleepwalking and living unconsciously, you are still living with the authentic power that is your very essence, whether you are conscious of it or not. It's just like your little toes. They are part of your body whether you are conscious of them or not.

Sometimes, when you are cutting your toenails, you become very conscious of them. You can see them. You wiggle them and they are a critical part of the make-up of your feet and therefore your whole system of balance. They do their job and you are grateful to have them but they are not in your consciousness.

Your authentic power is the same way in a nonphysical sense. It is always part of you and, just like your little toes, you use this power all the time. You only become aware of this power when you consciously think about your life and allow thoughts and words about “cause and effect” to enter the arena of your consciousness.

When you open yourself to the concept of your spirit and bring into balance the mind, body, spirit being that you are, then you can more easily see the connection between your individual self and the symmetry that self plays out as a unified piece of the whole.

It becomes critical to identify your spirit as an equal and integral partner in this divine triad that makes up the human experience. As explained early in the book, you are made up as a three-part being. When your mind, body and spirit are working as equal partners, then we can experience the largest amount of love.

It requires being true to yourself. I experienced being out of balance in my mind, body, spirit beingness most of my life. Most of my life I accentuated my mind and my body as those aspects of myself that I chose to define myself.

That is what the words of others told me was the best way to be if I wanted to achieve this concept they called “successful.” I was told throughout my life, from the words of my most influential teachers, like my mother and father and my schoolteachers and my religious leaders and of course, the almighty television, that success was something to be strived for and attained at all costs.

Who was I to refute the words of these knowledgeable masters? At the time I didn't really grasp the concept that words are the least reliable purveyor of the truth. Quite the opposite. I believed that words spoken by authoritative figures where words to live by and trust and believe as manna from heaven. Even when those words seemed contrary to my own experiences and truths.

Isn't it funny how we get so caught up in the words that other people tell us and then proceed to use those words as our own? It's easy to do because we have been conditioned to do that from our birth. Critical thinking was not part of any school or life curriculum.

This idea of “success” is so appealing because when you live within the fear-based paradigm of being separate from each other you need a scorecard to see if you are winning at the game of life. The good or bad opinions of others rule your life.

It is no longer good enough to be true to yourself, you must live in fear of how you perceive other peoples opinions of you. What they say about you. What powerful words they use to describe you. Whether they are words of praise or words of disdain, they are words with the power to affirm, alter and completely misconstrue who you believe yourself to be.

The best way to combat this external barrage of words that are designed to influence how you perceive yourself is to be immune to them. You are not going to stop other people from saying words, both good and bad, about how they describe you. You have no power over what other people say or do.

Your only true authentic power is the power that lies within you. This power allows you to control your own thoughts, words and deeds but it does not allow you to control the thoughts, words and deeds of others except through your own example.

Always be true to yourself.
