Risks when using a fake ID?

what are the risks criminally for using one? I know A LOT of people that have them and use them either using someone who looks similar or getting a fake one made with your picture. What can happen if you get caught with one? Can charges actually be laid if the police catch you with one? (I live in Canada, btw)

It is a FELONY. Stealing one's identity is against the law.

Just using someone else's ID is still a FELONY.
You are attempting to FRAUD someone else, into believing that another person is you.

Don't do it.

If the police catch you with it, or if they catch you trying to use it:
Either way you will get arrested and taken down to the police station.
And given a ticket to appear in court.

If you try using it in the USA, it will be worse for you because you are Candian, and it might be looked upon as you being a terrorist, because it is then an international crime.

nope, not if you have not commited another crime. they just take it and let your parents know.
if you are in a bar drinking, then you could get charged with underaged drinking and things like that. not to mention that you will get the bar in trouble too.

Arrest!

I work for the Government, i will not specify witch branch. And i can tell you iv'e seen people get arrested, when we catch people with fake id's police officers must be called in. From airports to buying an R movie, Arrest is the risk. so don't even do it

fraud and MIP (minor in posession). if its someone else's id you'll get slapped with theft ontop of it too. so your looking at jailtime. if your trying to get into a club with it and the bouncer catches it being fake, they usually take them from you and tell you to get lost and don't report it...if your lucky. they are supposed to hold you there until the police come though.

all in all, its so not worth it. just enjoy being a kid while you can.
