    SAN JOSE, June 13--eBay, the world's leading personal trading community, announced that it has agreed to acquire Half.com a fixed-price, person-to-person trading marketplace where buyers and sellers can trade used books, CDs, movies and video games that are at least half off the list price. The company was founded in July 1999 and launched its site in January 2000. eBay will pay for Half.com in stock, using a formula that is expected to work out to between 4.6 million and 5.5 million of its shares. Based on eBay's closing stock price Tuesday of $68 a share, the total value of the deal should be between $312 and $374 million.

    LOS ANGELES, June 13--Communications semiconductor company Broadcom said it would acquire Innovent Systems, a 1-1/2-year-old maker of wireless chips, for about $440 million in stock. Irvine, Calif.-based Broadcom said Innovent's recently announced Blutonium family of Bluetooth semiconductors and systems would give it a strong presence in the short-range wireless market for home uses that analysts estimate will be a multi-billlion industry within a few years. The deal will see Broadcom issue 3 million shares for Innovent.

    NEW YORK, June 13--Loudeye Technologies, a leading provider of digital media solutions that unleash the power of audio and video on the Internet, announced that it has entered into an agreement in principle to acquire privately-held VidiPax, the leading independent provider of video and audio restoration and migration services in the world. As part of the acquisition, Loudeye plans to expand VidiPax's well-established restoration facility in New York into a full-service Digital Media Center. The acquisition is anticipated to close by the end of June 2000, subject to satisfaction of a number of conditions.

    PURCHASE, N.Y., June 13--Interliant, a leading global application service provider (ASP), announced that it has acquired Chantilly, Virginia-based Knowledge Systems. Knowledge Systems, a provider of virtual trade shows and Web outsourcing services, has served association customers since 1984. Concurrently, Interliant is launching a new portfolio of services designed to meet the specific needs of the association marketplace.

    NEW YORK, June 13--Online pet supplies store Pets.com said it has agreed to acquire assets of privately held Internet pet store PetStore.com. Pets.com will acquire Petstore.com's database of customers and newsletter subscribers, as well as the Petstore.com trademark, its trade name and domain name, and its live fish business, Flying Fish Express. The transaction also involves a $3 million cash investment into Pets.com and the company said it will issue about 5.8 million shares of its common stock and about 850,000 shares of a redeemable nonvoting, nonconvertible series A preferred stock.

    In addition, Pets.com said it will take over a strategic, equity relationship with Discovery.com, an affiliate company of the Animal Planet cable television network. Pets.com said Discovery.com will become a "significant" shareholder in the company, and Discovery.com's President and Chief Operating Officer Michela English will join the Pets.com board of directors.

    THOUSAND OAKS, June 13--Xircom, the leading provider of mobile information access solutions, announced that it is acquiring Omnipoint Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of VoiceStream Wireless. The Omnipoint acquisition is a key element of Xircom's strategy to be a total provider of wireless data solutions for Wide Area, Personal Area, and Local Area Networks.

    Under the terms of the agreement, VoiceStream will become a minority investor in Xircom by holding 1,201,079 shares of Xircom common stock to be exchanged for all outstanding shares of Omnipoint. The stock exchanged would have a value of approximately $52.2 million with certain liabilities and unvested employee stock options additionally valued at approximately $8.3 million.
